Waitkoff's Word October 9th-13th

Our engineering unit is continuing on full speed ahead! We will be building our candy bag prototypes this week to see how many pounds of candy each team's bag can hold. Thank you to those who have donated candy for us to test our prototype. The students are beginning to understand what engineers do and how to problem solve.

All parent teacher conference slips have been sent home regarding your conference times for next week. Please return the conformation slip as soon as you can. If you are unable to make your time, please provide some other times that we can meet. You and your child will be able to shop at the book fair during those evenings. This is an exciting time for your child to extend their love of reading. Also, students can bring in money next Wednesday to shop during our regularly scheduled book fair time. A book fair flyer is coming home with your child this week so you may help them to make some decisions on what to buy prior to this day.

Our second quarter begins Wednesday, October 11th. This means that our reading and math requirements will begin over again. We will continue reaching for 20 points/objectives with an 85% accuracy or higher. Let's get a jump start and get ahead of our work.

I hope that everyone has a great week! You may email me at awaitkoff@lsc.k12.in.us or call at 765-771-6150.
